LMRM to host MS River Photo Exhibit

The Lower Mississippi River Museum is scheduled to host the MS River Photo Exhibit on November 8-16, 2013. The display will be housed at the Outlets of Vicksburg, 4000 S. Frontage Rd, Vicksburg, MS, Suite B-3, next to The Gap.

First on display on Capitol Hill in March 2013, the MS River Photo Exhibit served as a backdrop for a meeting of mayors from Mississippi River states, who came together to laud the formation of a bicameral MS River Caucus and unveil their platform to help the waterway for 2013. The original exhibit—organized by the Northeast-Midwest Institute’s Mississippi River Cities & Towns Initiative, in partnership with member-city arts organizations—showcased the beauty and challenges of the River through 47 photographs. At Capital Hill, the exhibit was displayed atop a map of the River and featured the work of artists from cities spanning the entire length of the waterway.

The exhibit is now headed to the River; throughout the summer and fall of 2013, eight cities along the River will host the exhibit: Dubuque, IA; Ft. Madison, IA; St. Louis, MO; Alton, IL; Osceola, AR; Memphis, TN; Vicksburg, MS; and New Orleans, LA.
